Which WebM Files Work?
Chrome, Edge and Firefox decode WebM audio (Opus and Vorbis) themselves, so WebM files work there. In Safari, support depends on the version; if a WebM file fails there, open the page in Chrome, Edge or Firefox.
WAV or MP3: Which Output Should You Choose?
Choose WAV if you are going to edit the audio: it is uncompressed, so nothing more is lost when you cut, clean and save it. Choose MP3 if you just want a small file to listen to or share; 192 kbps is a good default, and 128 kbps is enough for speech. The audio in a video is almost always compressed already, so a WAV does not sound better than the video did; it only avoids a second round of compression.
Large Files and Several Videos

The whole video is loaded into your device’s memory before the audio is extracted. Clips and recordings of a few minutes are no problem, but very large files, such as long 4K recordings, can fail, especially on phones. If that happens, try a computer or a shorter clip.
